MOBO Awards 2012 To Hit Liverpool

The 17th Annual MOBO Awards Goes To Liverpool

The Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards are heading up north again!

Following last year’s successful event in Glasglow, MOBO Organisation founder and CEO Kanya King MBE has announced that this year’s annual awards ceremony will be held at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.

King was joined by Rizzle Kicks as she made the announcement on Tuesday: ‘We had a fantastic show in Liverpool two years ago and worked very well in the city. Both Liverpool and MOBO are getting ready for another historic event in this Olympic year’.

While past award ceremonies have seen appearances from Jay-Z, Rihanna and Justin Timberlake, King went on to describe how the event is now very much celebrating British talent: ‘When we started 80% of the acts performing were from the US – now it’s the other way around. Our UK acts are the global superstars’.

Nominations are expected to be announced in early September. Jessie J was last year’s big winner, walking away with four awards including Best Album for her debut 'Who You Are' and Best Song for 'Do It Like A Dude'. Who will dominate this year?

The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday November 3rd and is bound to be an impressive show.
