Adele Too Emotional For Amy Winehouse Tribute
The Star Was Friends With The Late Amy Winehouse
George Michael has revealed that singer Adele was 'too emotional' to sing a tribute to her late friend Amy Winehouse.
Speaking to Heart 106.2, Michael said he asked the '21' singer to perform at a charity concert last year, but she declined. He said: ""We communicated by email and initially what I wanted was for us to sing 'Love Is A Losing Game' by Amy Winehouse at the Elizabeth Taylor tribute I did at Covent Garden."
"She was basically telling me she couldn't. She tried to put one of [Winehouse's] songs in her own set and she couldn't even get through it."
Adele knew the 'Rehab' star at London's Brit School. She performed a touching song for her friend at a previous concert at the Royal Albert Hall, yet it seems the concert would have been too hard for the pregnant star.
Michael added: "They're obviously musical goddesses but I think the tragedy would have been too much for her."
