LIVE: Professor Green @ Summer Series, Somerset House

The Professor Impressess...

Hackney bred rapper Professor Green elevated the 18th century courtyard stage of Somerset House as part of the historic venue’s ongoing Summer Series event in partnership with American Express.

Professor Green’s performance last night (Friday 8th July 2011) was his biggest London show to date and he failed to disappoint a largely adoring, multi cultured & multi aged crowd, who swayed their hips & threw their arms into the air at any & every opportunity.

Green supported by Radio 1 Xtra DJ Mistajam performed hit tracks including ‘I Need You Tonight', 'Just Be Good To Green', a dubstep remix of ‘Monster’ and 'Jungle'. To much delight, the British rapper also covered versions of Beyonce’s 'Crazy in Love', Jay-Z's 'Big Pimpin' and fellow British MC Dizzee Rascal's 'Fix Up Look Sharp'.
Overwhelmed with the obvious thrill from his audience and being able to perform at the prestigious venue Green said: "Years ago it would have been Nelson walking around here, now a little toe rag like me is playing at Somerset House - this has been the most crazy 18 months of my life."
Signing off the evening on a high he appropriately performed with his new single 'Read All About It' and the last track on his debut album 'Goodnight'.
The summer concert series continues until 18th July 2011 with acts including Ellie Goulding, Beady Eye, Aloee Blacc & Blondie, eager to rock the venue as much as Professor Green did!
