LIVE: Ella Eyre @ Shepherd's Bush Empire, London
Ella Eyre performs to a sold out home town crowd!
After supporting Bastille at the same venue just a year previous, it was clear how special the evening was to Ella. Family and friends could be seen clearly from the balcony and her eyes often drifted towards them.
The first thing you notice when Ella vibrantly graces the stage is her huge mane of hair which only adds more drama to her upbeat dance style. Eyre performed tracks old and new to her adorning audience along with Soundcloud favourite cover ‘We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off’ at which point the crowd roared so loudly the band had to pause and the lights came back up allowing Ella to soak the moment in.
By the time Ella performed Rudimental feature track ‘Waiting All Night’ every member of the audience were on their feet and ready to dance. Touring with Rudimental really gave Ella an opportunity to build her stage presence and personal performance style. This turned out to be an upbeat, movement dominated style that really impresses, especially while keeping such a controlled hold on her vocals.
The focus though, was Ella’s newest release ‘Comeback’ a fantastic finale to a mesmerising evening.
A huge performance from the 20 year old and one which I believe will stay with her.
