LIVE: Disclosure @ Alexandra Palace, London
Because I Played The Fool For You...
Ever since Disclosure burst onto the scene in 2012 with ‘Latch’ they’ve barely been off radio playlists and the charts. With four BRIT Award nominations, a number one debut album and a number one single since then, it was no surprise that their UK tour was an instant sell-out.
We were lucky enough to see the duo, brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence, in action on March 8th at London’s Alexandra Palace. Even with the huge crowd at the 10,000 capacity venue, Disclosure’s beats rushed across the venue and effortlessly filled the room from front to back.
The gig opened with ‘F For You’, featuring Mary J Blige’s recently added vocals. The track was the perfect way to kick off the show and was accompanied by projections of the famous Disclosure doodle singing along to the choruses behind the guys on the stage.
The crowd sang along word for word as the pair performed hit after hit from their debut album ‘Settle’. The record boasts so many seamless pop hits and it was an amazing experience to witness as guest performer after guest performer took to the stage to perform the tracks.
The highlight of the night was undoubtedly ‘Latch’, Disclosure’s first ever top 20 single and the song that brought to the forefront of everyone’s attention. The addictive dancefloor hit got everyone in the crowd going crazy and reminded us why it propelled the duo to stardom.
Other great moments were the number one hit ‘White Noise’, ‘When A Fire Starts To Burn’ and ‘Apollo’.
Performing live, Disclosure proved why they’re one of the biggest UK music success stories of the past few years. With their talent, focus and hit-making skills, it’s hard to imagine them going anywhere soon.
