COMPANY Magazine: Rising Stars @ Foundation Bar, Covent Garden
Rising Stars of 2013!
You'll be hard-pressed to find a better way to spend a glum Monday evening than being in a glamorous basement, amidst awesome showbiz names and fresh-faced emerging stars.
Dropout UK went down to the oober-trendy Foundation Bar, Covent Garden to check out some of 2013’s hottest emerging acts including Nina Nesbitt, Fake Club and Arlissa. The event was a collaboration with Rimmel who sure do know how to throw a party. Old-English style phone booths, uniquely painted pink, were dotted around the room and accommodated sheek manicures and the full works Rimmel London makeover-Glitter balls hanging from the ceiling and wine flowing in every cup…They definitely did not hold back.
The night was topped off by an almost gentle performance by the beautiful Roc Nation artist Arlissa. Her sultry-sweet vocals and her effortless beauty took charge. The singer who was flown out exclusively to collaborate with Nas in L.A., (in a day and age where musicians that collaborate barely ever cross paths) gifted us with her tracks 'Hard to Love' and 'Sticks and Stones'. The room which was once filled with an excited energy, came to a standstill in acknowledgment of the singer, who was dressed in a figure hugging white skirt and a sleveless roll-neck which revealed her lithe frame.
Nina Nesbitt opened the show with some indie-folk awesomeness. 18 year-old Nesbitt from Edinburgh set the mood with her beautiful voice and heartfelt songs including new release 'Boy'.
